Same Old City is absolutely delighted and honoured to announce our collaboration with York-based Trig Brewery to release a commemorative beer in celebration of City’s return to the English Football League.
Simon and Ben trekked to the brewery in July to help brew a 5.2% IPA appropriately titled Same Old Citra! With Citra hops delivering striking citrus zest, backed up by tropical, piney depth from Mosaic, Simcoe, and Azacca, Same Old Citra is a refreshing beer that’s as clean and crisp as an Ollie Banks outside-of-the-boot strike. It’s designed to be enjoyed whether at a bar with friends, or at home watching those thirteen minutes at the Crown Oil Arena from April for the dozenth time.
Same Old Citra will be launched around the Exeter home game on Saturday 29th August. Before the game, we are delighted to confirm that a cask version of the beer will be available to try at the Slip Inn on Clementhorpe as part of their beer festival that weekend. After the game, all fans of York City and the Same Old City podcast are welcome to make the journey to Trig’s excellent taproom in Poppleton. We’ll be there enjoying a draft version of Same Old Citra, plus Trig’s usual selection of excellent ales and delicious Indian fusion food from Ladoo. As well as pouring on draft, there will be 440ml cans of Same Old Citra available for sale to take home with you.

There are various gift packages available and, excitingly, there are also limited edition collaborative Same Old City/Trig t-shirts available to purchase - there are two designs of t-shirt in red and white, and a range of sizes.
